We are searching for al full-time Enrichment Coordinator. This position reports directly to the Founder of Green Ivy Schools , playing an essential role in the planning and implementation of various academic, enrichment and recreational activities at both schools. The primary goal of this position is to develop, lead and maintain successful enrichment programs, whether offered by outside vendors or by Green Ivy Schools. The secondary goal of this position is to support admissions for both schools by attracting prospective families with enrichment programs. The enrichment programming created by this role would attract and/or nurture families who value a school that promotes student self-confidence, self-expression, positive peer relationships, responsible behavior and a social commitment to contribute to one’s community.

There are three segments of enrichment: 1) after school programming for Green Ivy Schools in Lower Manhattan, New York. This covers two sites; Pine Street School and Battery Park Montessori and includes both rentals to vendors and Green Ivy original programming; 2) Summer Camps at Battery Park Montessori and/or Pine Street School; 3) all camp vendor rentals for vacation and summer camps.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Management of all Enrichment Programming:

  • Manages Pine Street School and Battery Park Montessori after school programs and camp rentals.
  • Leads in the development and maintenance of a positive coordinated educational program designed to meet the needs of all participants.
  • Implements feedback mechanisms for staff, parents and students regarding curriculum and instruction.
  • Assists with orders and purchases of materials related to enrichment program activities/initiatives.
  • Maintains records of all participants and activities including attendance, feedback, retention, interest in or action related to admissions.
  • Coordinates the routine, general administration and onsite implementation of the schools’ after school programs.
  • Supervises on campus day-to-day after school programs at both locations as needed.
  • Works with Green Ivy administration to ensure that after school programs are within budget.
  • Secures vendors as needed for after school programs and camps.
  • Manages all vendor relationships, including negotiation of terms, contracts, insurance and liability documentation, deposits, payments, use of space.
  • Oversees after school staff, program operations and services including registration, processing of all forms and confirmation letters, recruitment, interviewing, hiring and termination of all program employees.
  • Responds to all inquiries regarding after school and camp.
  • Collaborates with Green Ivy marketing staff and admissions to ensure that after school and camp programs are well-publicized well in advance (4 months for after school; 6 months for summer).

Internal Communication on After School Program:

  • Communicates regularly with school leaders to ensure their satisfaction with after school program (i.e. usage of space, alignment to program/school culture, recruitment of enrolled families)
  • Reports to accounting on billing.

Renters Management:

  • Manages renter room assignments and coordination of shared spaces.
  • Ensures all renters at both locations have an up-to-date COI on file.
  • Ensures all renters at both locations have up-to-date signed User Agreements on file.
  • Alerts Facilities Team re all rentals and rental needs.

Admissions Support:

  • Work with admissions to generate new leads and secure new families.

Overall Management

  • Ensure training for all enrichment staff for developmentally appropriate practice.
  • Supervise enrichment staff on classroom management practices and ensure these are appropriate
  • Ensure the space used by Enrichment is clean by the time staff leaves
  • Follow the DOH standards, food, hygiene

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent field experience
  • Interest in providing quality hands on, inquiry-based projects, enrichment and recreation experience to children aged 2-11
  • 2-3 years of experience working with children and/or managing children's programming
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with people on all levels (customers, vendors, coworkers, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Trustworthiness and dependability
